Health Guarantee:
Fluffy Luv Cattery provides a 72-hour limited health warranty that the above kitten/cat is in good health and is negative for FELV (Feline Leukemia), FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus), and FIV (Feline Aids), as well as any other serious medical conditions. Serious medical conditions are defined as any that will shorten the life span of the kitten. Please note that stress can bring on upper respiratory infections or diarrhea in kittens, and that leaving their Mother and litter mates, along with the car ride, and introduction to a new home can be very stressful to them. We highly recommend Duralactin and Bene Bac to help their immune systems.
The Warranty Will Be Void Unless The Following Are Done By The Buyer:
1. If the kitten’s health is in question, the Buyer must take the kitten to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of purchasing him/her, at their own expense. The Buyer must notify Fluffy Luv of any health concerns immediately. If there is any suggested treatment, Fluffy Luv Cattery must agree to all treatment and expenses prior to them being performed. Failure to obtain this agreement from Fluffy Luv Cattery will result in the Purchaser being solely responsible for all expenses. All health expenses are the sole responsibility of the Buyer unless otherwise agreed upon by the Seller.
It is the Buyer’s responsibility to keep the kitten separate from all other animals until checked by their vet.
2. If during this check-up the veterinarian finds a health problem of a serious nature, the veterinarian needs to write and sign a statement on his/her letterhead, explaining their findings. This statement must be forwarded to Fluffy Luv Cattery immediately.
3. If the above requirements are met, and there is a health problem, the kitten may be returned to the Seller within five days for a refund, minus the deposit, or exchanged for a new kitten, if one is available. If none are available, and replacement is desired by the Purchaser, Fluffy Luv Cattery will make every effort to replace the kitten with one of the same gender, color, and character as soon as one becomes available in our Cattery. The Buyer will be responsible for any shipping and handling costs.
4. If the purchased kitten/cat passes within two years of purchase due to a congenital or hereditary defect, the Seller will make every attempt to replace it with a kitten/cat of the same gender, similar or better markings, color and quality. The Seller agrees to replace the kitten/cat as soon as one becomes available within Fluffy Luv Cattery. To receive a replacement, the buyer must present, at their own expense, a valid autopsy report of the kitten/cat, signed by a licensed veterinarian, which validates that the death was due to a congenital or hereditary defect. The Buyer must also provide the full health and vaccination record of the kitten/cat. This report must also indicate that all other cat(s)/kitten(s) in the owners home, or that the purchased kitten/cat came in contact with, are free of the disease/condition that caused it’s death. This report must be on the veterinarian’s letterhead, and be signed and dated by them. The veterinarian must be available for contact from the seller.
5. The Buyer agrees to provide a home for the kitten/cat that is safe, clean, loving, and conducive to good health and the longevity of the animal. Furthermore, they agree to provide a clean litter box or place for elimination.
6. The Buyer must provide proper, age appropriate, balanced and healthy nutrition for their kitten, as well as fresh, clean water daily. We strongly suggest a food with no corn, wheat, or meat by products. Many illnesses and conditions can be completely avoided by feeding this way. We feed Blue Kitten food, and Innova and Evo canned food.
7. The buyer agrees to provide the kitten with appropriate companionship for a Ragdoll.
8. The Buyer agrees that the kitten/cat will not be let outside at any time, due to the docile nature of Ragdolls cats, and because indoor cats are not vaccinated against illnesses that are outdoors.
9. The Buyer agrees that the kitten/cat will not be declawed, or the health guarantee is null and void. Declawing removes the knuckle, and is considered an amputation. Given the nature of Ragdoll cats, declawing usually is not necessary. Please contact Fluffy Luv Cattery for suggestions on how to train or prevent activities in your kitten/cat. We will also tell you which type of scratching post your kitten prefers.
10. The Buyer agrees that the kitten/cat will be kept un-caged for the main portion of it’s life.
11. The Buyer must agree to maintain the recommended veterinary, checkups and vaccinations found on our website. The Buyer is responsible to check with their local county for the legal requirements for Rabies vaccinations for a indoor cat. If the buyer chooses to give their kitten the Rabies vaccination, DO NOT give it at the same time as their other vaccinations. This can stress the Ragdoll’s immune system and even cause death.
Vaccinations occur at 6 weeks, 9 weeks, 12 weeks, and 15 weeks. Then annually after that. DO NOT USE ANY FORT DODGE OR PFIZER VACCINATIONS ON RAGDOLLS. These are considered “hot”, or stronger, and it is well known that Ragdolls often can’t take these shots. They can have serious reactions up to and including death. We do not warranty against reactions to vaccinations or Rabies shots.
Any failure on the Buyer’s part to uphold any of the above will result in the health guarantee being null and void.
The buyer is responsible for any and all veterinarian costs once the kitten leaves the seller’s home.
The Purchaser agrees that if legal proceedings become necessary, that all legal and/or court proceedings will take place in the State and County in which the seller lives.
All terms and conditions of this contract will remain in effect for the life of the kitten/cat.
Breeding:
The Buyer is not permitted, under any circumstances, to breed the purchased kitten/cat unless they have paid for, and been granted breeding rights from Fluffy Luv Cattery, as noted on the purchasing contract. If the buyer does breed the kitten/cat, the Purchaser agrees to pay Fluffy Luv Cattery the full breeding price of the kitten, which ranges from $1400 - $2800. In this situation, the Buyer also agrees to pay any and all legal fees incurred by Fluffy Luv. On top of the breeding price being paid, if we determine that the conditions or circumstances that the purchased kitten/cat is breeding in are not up to the Ragdoll Association’s standards, the buyer agrees to immediately stop breeding. Failure to do so will give Fluffy Luv Cattery the right to obtain the kitten/cat permanently.
The Buyer agrees to have the purchased kitten/cat spayed/neutered before it reaches six months of age. The buyer also agrees to mail a dated statement on the vet‘s letterhead, signed by the licensed Veterinarian who performed the surgery, saying the kitten/cat was spayed/neutered, and the date in which this surgery occurred. Upon receiving this notice from the purchaser’s Veterinarian, Fluffy Luv Cattery will process and mail the pedigree papers for the purchased kitten/cat to the Buyer in a timely manner.
